Two Socks Passing in the Mail
Christy is a Tricky Girl! In a bizarre twist of fate, as my Hurricane Sister was knitting a sock for me, I was knitting a sock for her! Cindi packed my swap box with loads of things to make hurricanes a happier event!
Not pictured: traditional pre-storm Brownie mix.
It is hidden from William Henry.
All kinds of stuff to keep me entertained the next time the power is out. I am not waiting for the power to go out to finish this pair of socks though. The pattern is the interesting and appropriately named Tidal Wave Socks by Deby Lake!
Looks like a heavy chop to me.
The yarn is the Anne Shaefer Yarn. It’s got a little bit of mohair in it that gives it a really pleasant halo. I am thrilled with all my goodies - thanks so much Cindi! And many thanks again to Christy for organizing another great (and hopefully storm-preventing) Hurricane Swap Party!
Stay tuned to Yarn Miracle (home of the non-traditional swap) for the details on an upcoming Summer Event! I know you’re asking yourself: Will the fun never end?

WooHoo! What a great package. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the summer.

I am NOT asking myself that question, because I happen to know for a fact that “Emily” is, in fact, siply another way to spell FUN!
Waiting with a worm on my tongue to see whazzup….
Oh, BTW, thanks for addicting me to “icanhascheeezeburger.com”.

It almost makes me wish I lived in Hurricane Country. Almost…
Great score!

What a great package and nice sock! Uh oh, sounds like WH is a brownie eater.

What???You get to eat brownies during a hurricane? What have we been missing, here in WNY? The sock is gorgeous, Em. Oh, a fun summer swap. I can’t wait to see and hear!

The fun around here is indeed nonstop.

Ooooo, I love the Tidal Wave sock! I’ll put it on my to do list.

What a great swap idea - and a GREAT package! I don’t live in hurricane country, but we loose power here and there from the storms and when we loose power, we have NOTHING (everything is electric - heat, water/well pump, toilet/septic pump, stove, fridge, everything!). It bites! We lost it for 3 days this past winter (scroll back on my blog - Jan I believe)…
Looking forward to the next swap you start…
So btw, do you have to knit sock #2?? Its a gorgeous sock!

Oh, I do love that sock. And, that yarn is so so pretty.
I can’t wait to hear what kind of swap will be happening. I heart my wee tiny sock so much!

Nice haul Emily! Based solely on the package you are ready for just about anything. The sock is wonderful; love the colour and the pattern. I imagine doing #2 won’t be too difficult.

You hide brownie mix from WH? now that’s a story I want to hear! (and I thought my cats got into trouble… heh heh)
Can’t wait to hear about what summer fun you have planned -

The sock is beautiful! I hope it is storm preventing - I feel so unprepared!

Wow what a stash. Love the sock. I do the same thing with special foods but not with DH. The kids are eating machines and if I don’t hide em I never get to eat a bite.
Can’t wiat to find out about the nontraditional swap.
