Dish Rag Tag Announcement!

**DISH RAG TAG SIGN UPS ARE NOW CLOSED! PLEASE CHECK THE MAIN PAGE FOR DETAILS**
***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING DISH RAG TAG SIGNUPS***

I had no idea this many people would want to play my silly game! I am absolutely overwhelmed that at this moment there are 92 (96 – four more signed up while I typed this) people playing. Honestly, I was expecting about 50 people to take me up on this insanity! Since I am getting a little panicked about how far this might go, it is the first time something like this has been tried, and I am going to need a LOT of dishrags to start this thing off*, I have decided to cap sign-ups at 200 people. The up-side of this is that as soon as sign-ups hit 200, The Miracle Household can start sorting out teams and you should be able to start strategizing earlier! The start date will still be August 1.

Also in the category of *%@#!, I have realized that camp is a week earlier than I thought. I have to finish planning arts and crafts for around 160 kids ages 3-13 and order all the supplies in a week less time than I thought. This would affect Dish Rag Tag Dates, but since we are going to hit 200 players WAY before July 15, I am not worried about it anymore.

Excuse me while I panic a little bit.

*Abigail has kindly offered to help me by knitting a bajillion starter dishrags and I just bless her heart for it.

Why are you knitting all the starter dishrags???? Why not have the dishrags/boxes start and end with the captains of the teams. Which means each captain would knit the first dishrag for her tream.

You’ve got a few volunteers to send starter dishrags to you, but if you find a need of more help just give a shout my way. I’ll be happy to send a couple your way.

Woohoo, this is going to be fun!

Totally agree with Susan. Team captain should knit the first dishrag, pack with everything and send. The last team member will send it back to the team captain. Then everybody gets exactly one dishrag made especially for them, and no starter dishrags are needed!

I like Susan’s idea – you don’t need lots of extra work to gear up for this. Sending back to the captain makes nice closure to it all. Maybe that way it can still be fun for you too. 🙂

    Susan, Donna and Beth:

Because it is more fair to have them all originate from one place. This way everything will be mailed at exactly the same time and return to exactly the same place. There is no room for ambiguity, no accusations of unfairness etc. I have thought about this for almost a year. Trust me.

COuldn’t the team captain start off with the boxes? i.e. knit the dishrag and contribute the first set of cotton and goodies? Then the last person in the team could send their contribution to the captain.

Ok then how about choosing the teams, picking a captain who’s responsibility as captain is to knit the first dishcloth, send it to you and YOU pack em all up and send em all off on the start date? That way you can mix em up even for the captains!

    How does that sound?

What the? I have been trying to sign up all day and it kept telling me the site was down.
Does this mean I can’t play now?
    Me so sad.
    🙁
BTW I still can’t access the sign up page.

I know you’ve thought about this, but I have a question…what are y’all going to do with the umpteen dishclothes mailed back to you at the end?

I’m so glad that you have had such an overwhelming response! If I can be of any help, please just let me know.
