Rookie Mistake
I increased the length from the beginning of the armhole to the shoulder. Sadly, I did not increase the sleeves accordingly.
And I thought I was almost finished.
I wish I had noticed the two inch disparity before I wasted all that time on the edgings. Would it be completely lazy to make this a sleeveless romper? I could just do the little picot stuff all around the armhole edge. It gets real hot this time of year…

and it won’t be even slightly chilly until perhaps October. Go for sleeveless. Ze Behbeh will thank you.

I live in Oklahoma and as humid as the summer is here, I have to imagine Alababma is worse or at least the same so yeah, make it sleeveless! That’s not failure, it’s called appropriate modification! lol.

NO it would not be. I think it would look darling with a picot edge. You are the boss of your knitting

Sleeveless! Perfect for the heat of the summer and a whole bunch less stress on Mommy.
And it’s beautiful, by the way.

Yes, sleeveless and make make some booties and a bonnet to match.
Then she will be one stylish little rose.

Sleeveless sounds good to me!

Sleeveless! Practical and supercute to boot!

I vote for sleeveless and picot edge. The temp is almost 85 degrees in the Deep South right now and sleeveless would be just the ticket to make through the long, hot summer.

Picot, picot, picot!
Um, Em? Have you thought about a picot edging on a sleeveless jumper?
June 15th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
Like everyone else I agree that sleeveless would be absolutely fine. She can wear a cute little blouse under it.

I vote for going sleeveless. Besides, what’s cuter than chubby little baby shoulders?

“real hot” - is that what they call 110 degrees in the shade with 97% relative humidity?????????????

Sleeveless rompers are where it’s at. It’s what all the cool babies are wearing this season!
June 16th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
I think you should go for it the sleevless romper:) This way you can move on to other knitting and everyone will be all the happier.
June 16th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Yes, sleeveless! With piecrust picot trim.
June 16th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
I’d go for sleeveless too - and she could always wear a tiny t-shirt under it come fall….. bag those sleeves baby, life is short
So many more fun baby clothes to knit!

REALLY and truly, I thought that the romper WAS sleeveless!…you mean it calls for sleeves??!!!! No,no,no…way too hot and she will wear it much longer without the sleeves. We can all picture it in our heads and can’t wait until you show us the end result….modeled of course. Gotta have our baby fix!!!!

That makes perfect sense to me! If she needs extra warmth for her arms, you could put a long-sleeved shirt on underneath. Gorgeous cables.
