Today I live in a world that doesn’t have Great Gran in it. Thank you for all of your kind thoughts and words and prayers. It’s been good to know that y’all are out there.
Ellie is going to be a witch for Halloween. And I’m going to take a little bit of a break.

Oh dear Emily, I am so sorry for your loss. I know from reading your blog over the years how much your great gran meant to you. Her spirit will live on in you and you will teach Ellie all about her, I know this to be true.

I’m so, so sorry for your loss. People seem to think it should get easier to lose elderly loved ones the older you get, but I think it’s way harder.
May all those good memories of Great Gran help you through the dark days. We’ll be thinking of you all.
I am so sorry to hear about your gran Emily. I know it is hard to lose a loved one no matter how sick or old they are. My mother always told me to dewell on the good memories of the ones gone and the things about them that made me smile and not the fact that they are no longer here. I truly thank my mother for that advice and have used it many times in relation to her passing. Prayers for you and your family are being sent up!

She’ll be here as long as you remember her. Allow yourself to be sad, and don’t come back here until you’re ready. We all understand.
Having just read your entire blog only very recently, I am truly sad for you and for me. Take some time off and try and write things down. The recipes, the jokes, her favorite pattern, the things she always said. the perfumes, soaps, pet peeves, describe her favorite house dress, write memories of special days. You see in 20 years we change. We think differently. But what you write down is a time capsule. Capture this time for you and your daughter. In 20 years you will want to look back and remember these special moments. I think it helps us to grieve and rejoice in the life they lived.
