It’s like they’ve never heard of turnip greens up here.
This is as tragic as the pimento cheese situation.
Maybe Whole Foods or a small coop or organic market or in a city. I’d never hear of black-eyed peas and greens for New Year’s until I moved south.
Even Whole Foods let me down! There’s a restaurant in Hartford with collards (and also some kind of pimento cheese ‘sauce’ that I have mixed feelings about…that’s meant to be a spread…), but we have to settle for spinach salad (or maybe green beans) with our black-eyed peas this year.
