Using a crochet-chain provisional cast-on, pick up 10 sts.
Short row toe

Row 1:  P9, wrap & turn
Row 2:  K8, wrap & turn
Row 3:  P7, wrap & turn
Row 4:  K6, wrap & turn
Row 5:  P5, wrap & turn
Row 6:  K4, wrap & turn
Row 7:  P4, pick up wrap and purl with next stitch, wrap next stitch & turn
Row 8:  K5, pick up wrap and knit with next stitch, wrap & next stitch & turn
Row 9:  P6, pick up 2 wraps and purl with next stitch, wrap & turn
Row 10:  K7, pick up 2 wraps and knit with next stitch, wrap & turn
Row 11:  P8, pick up 2 wraps and purl with next stitch, wrap & turn
Row 12:  K9, pick up 2 wraps and knit with next stitch

Carefully unzip the crochet chain and divide these 10 sts across 2 needles (5 sts per needle).
Knit in the round until sock measures approx. 2" from toe.
Work short row heel on the needle with 10 sts.

Row 7:  K4, pick up wrap and knit with next stitch, wrap next stitch & turn
Row 8:  P5, pick up wrap and purl with next stitch, wrap & next stitch & turn
Row 9:  K6, pick up 2 wraps and knit with next stitch, wrap & turn
Row 10:  P7, pick up 2 wraps and purl with next stitch, wrap & turn
Row 11:  K8, pick up 2 wraps and knit with next stitch, wrap & turn
Row 12:  P9, pick up 2 wraps and purl with next stitch

Turn work and work in the round until leg measures 1.5" from the bottom of the heel.
Work 1x1 rib for half and inch.
Bind off and weave in ends.
