Wee Tiny Sock Swap Sock

Materials

Four US size 0 double pointed needles (or equivalent needle arrangement).
Small amount of leftover sock yarn of your choice.
Yarn needle.
Pattern Notes
This is written assuming that you have made a top-down sock with a heel flap before. If you've got any questions or something doesn't make sense, please don't hesitate to email me (emily @ yarn miracle dot com) for clarification. For a Toe-Up Version - look here!

Leg

Cuff
Cast on 20 stitches. I arranged mine on the needles as 6-8-6.
Join with out twisting and work K1,P1 ribbing for 5 rounds or desired cuff length.
Leg
Work in stockinette stitch (or leg pattern of your choice) until piece measures 1.5" to 2." Whatever you think looks good.

Heel

Heel Flap
Divide stitches in half for heel and arrange on the needles so that the 10 stitches for the heel occupy a single needle. Work back and forth on those 10 stitches in stockinette for 8 rows. End with a wrong side row.
Heel Turn
It's a Dutch Heel.
Row 1 (right side): K6, K2tog, TURN
Row 2: P3, P2tog, TURN
Row 3: K3, K2tog, TURN
Continue to work three stitches and then decrease and turn the work until all the heel stitches have been incorporated. There should be four stitches left. Knit those four stitches. Arrange stitches so that the instep stitches are on a single needle and the remaining heel stitches are divided onto two needles. The round now begins and ends in the center of the heel and the needles are 1, 2 (instep) and 3.

Gusset

With needle 1, pick up and knit 9 stitches evenly along the side of the heel flap.
Knit across the instep stitches on needle 2. Pick up and knit 9 stitches along the other side of the heel flap and then knit the stitches on needle three.
To decrease the Gusset:
Round 1
Needle 1: Knit to the last three stitches on the needle, K2tog, K1
Needle 2: Knit evenly
Needle 3: K1, SSK, K to end of round
Round 2
Knit all stitches
Continue to work these two rows until 20 total stitches remain on the needles.

Foot

Work evenly until foot measures about 1.5" from the back of the heel (about 6 more rounds).

Toe

Round 1
Needle 1: Knit to last 2 stitches, K2tog
Needle 2: SSK, Knit to last 2 stitches, K2tog
Needle 3: ssk, Knit to end of round
Round 2
Knit all stitches evenly.
Repeat these two round until 4 stitches remain. Cut yarn and run tail thorugh remaining stitches. Pull tight and run yarn tail to the inside of the sock to secure it. Tuck in all ends.
