Fluffy sweater pictures!

me by the barn

Why the grumpy face? It’s raining on me!

The sweater is very soft and luscious. And warm. Very warm. Those roses in my cheeks? All natural, baby! It’s close to 70° today even with the Torrential Rain. Also, here is a detail of the twisted rib.

And then the rain drove us inside. No sweater picture is worth ruining your camera.

I tried the MustHave swatch on 4s. And it came out a quarter inch too small. Arguh. SO I am making the 37″ instead of the 38″ and hoping for the best. “It’s a cardigan,” I keep telling myself, “I don’t have to look like a Sweater Girl when I am wearing it.” I have decided to go ahead and make the body as long as the largest size (21″). I really don’t like it when my sweaters are too short for my pants. I am casting on for a sleeve on this lovely, rainy day.

In between MustHave and the Fluffy Sweater, I made a couple of mousies for the cats in my life. Turns out Dinah likes catnip, too, and was willing to crawl into the fluffy sweater bag to get at it (terrible picture, I know, but it was such a funny thing). So I made her a mouse after dinner and she played with it all night long. Betty loves her mouse! It is already really, really grubby.

Your fluffy sweater is beautiful. It doesn’t seem bulky like the one in the book. This was one of the few patterns in Vintage Knits that didn’t really appeal to me, but after seeing your sweater, I’m going to give it a second look.

I LOVE it! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. I gotta get me some of that wool and make that sweater. Lucky you, starting on the Must Have. I’m so jealous. I keep telling myself that my laziness will actually pay off in that I will benefit from everyone else’s knowledge. By the time I start, all the kinks should be worked out of the pattern and it will be smooth knitting till the finish. Did I mention how much I LOVE that sweater.

Your fluffy sweater is awesome! I agree with Christina — that sweater didn’t grab me when I first bought the book, but now it’s on my (very long) list too! Actually, I think I’d like to make pretty much everything in that book!

Your pink fluffy is adorable! I love the color you’ve got for Must Have too — the Classic Merino has been great to work with. I’m looking forward to watching your progress! (I’ve got one sleeve to go!)

Hooray! Another Vintage Knits sweater finished. I love, love all of the “kid” yarns by Rowan, they’re all so soft and lovely! The sweater turned out beautifully….just boo-ti-ful!

Emily, your fluffy came out gorgeous, dahling! Your kidsoft is much smoother looking than mine. I have the light blue, and it is as hairy as Robin Williams’ forearms! It’s like knitting with lint at times! I think I must’ve gotten a bum yarn lot. Umph! I keep telling myself it’ll smooth over after it’s washed (but not dried! – never doing THAT again.) I also didn’t fool around with the twisted ribbing at the bottom – I wanted to get on with the damn thing, so I’ve used regular old K2 P2, and not as much as the pattern advises. Hope my sweater doesn’t end up looking like a sack of blue hair… Kudos again for your lovely creation.

oh it came out so soft and fluffy and pretty!! now my real question is: is it itchy at all? i have 15 balls waiting, some of which are going to be something from the kid silk book and some which may become this sweater…. we’ll see, it’s not being worked on anytime soon. looks great!
