Fence with a Lid

We are now the proud owners of a 10’x10′ chain link fence enclosure with a lid. Big Girl knows how to climb. There has also been dedicated work on an Escape Tunnel that will lead to China. For fun, here are some head shots:

Big Girl

This is Big Girl. (No names. Names mean you live here.)

tasty!

Little Man (Incidentally, my Great Grandmother had a dog named Little Man when she lived here.)

doll baby

Little Girl (Her ears are blowing in the wind.)

I do still knit on occasion. As proof, I offer this slightly blurry picture of a single finished Bloomin’ Feet sock.

one! one sock ah ah ah!

Yay!

It need some serious blocking. Becky, you promise that your sock blockers won’t melt if I really use them as sock blockers? I just can’t stand the idea of wet socks all over them!

Awww, they are so adorable. People who abandon pets really suck. It’s great that you guys are fostering them. I got one of my dogs from a shelter that fostered dogs. He was housebroken already at 3 months old. My other dog was a foundling. She was abandoned at a dog park.

Hate to break it to you, but technically those ARE names. (Again, with the ducking and hiding) Your sock looks GREAT!

    – – Just noticing your side-bar links. I love the side-bar links. William Henry & the Fern is cracking me up. I think he needs to be in a children’s book.

Love ’em! What pattern are you using?

And your faux dog names are too close to names…maybe you should try and number them instead.

Oh, how lovely Big Girl is! She looks so much like Dengse, who is in Dog Heaven…. I hope you find really good homes for all of them where they can grow lovely and old together with humans that love and care as much as you do!

Wow, those are fine-looking dogs! My two are both strays, and it just makes me sick to think of someone dumping them.

Have you read _Dog_, by Michelle Herman? It’s a great story about a fostered dog and his new owner.

You know Big Girl, Little Girl, and Little Man would make nice dog names. 😉 Our shelter does take owner drop offs and people still abandon animals. Cute socks!

You may have posted this before, but where did you get the pattern for the CounterPain squares?

I didn’t picture it with the first squares, but now that you have some crocheted together, it looks amazing!

Your “little man” looks a lot like my Teutul (who was abandoned as a pup with his brother in TN and made his way North to us in NH thru rescue)… Its a great thing you’re doing, dog rescue!
