Let me get this part out of the way:
dad gum
I feel obliged to point out that I was working both sides of the Deep-V on this Pullover at the same time so that they match perfectly. The other side is fine. This must have happened when I went back to fix that other problem – I really shouldn’t watch interesting television and try to knit at the same time. But whatever. Any sort of urgency I felt toward this sweater vanished when I turned off the heater and opened the windows about three weeks ago. I know we’ll have at least one more cold snap that has the potential to be sweater-worthy, but even that hasn’t provided much motivation.
I’d rather make toys. Let’s call it a phase.
Prototype Chicken!
I plan to make the pattern for Sweetie Chicken and her rooster companion available at some point in the future. They are developed entirely from scratch* and inspired by this low moment for Alabama’s legislative branch concerning the current cockfighting law. My favorite part is the elected officials who were in the building and didn’t bother to show up for the meeting. Which was a total circus with all the out-of-towners, but still. If you choose to read the article, the more interesting** parts are on page two.
I don’t want to end on a down*** note so I will leave you with one last image:
Guess what?
*wahahaha I am so funny!
**In other words: disgraceful.
***ohhohoho The chicken jokes never stop!
That is the cutest chicken I have ever seen.
I just love your chicken–such wonderful attitude?! Hurry up and get this pattern done! 🙂 just love the way the chicken is shakin’ a leg! 🙂 Doesn’t inspiration come from the most unexpected places?!
Just toooooo darn cute. How clever you are.
Fried in grease, want a piece?! LOL! Your chicken is freakin adorable, emi. So glad you finally like silly jokes, you didn’t particularly like them about 15 yrs ago. I remember a lot of eye-rolling from you, missy.
Your chicken is adorable!
When do we get a puppy?
Love the chicken!! At least you have a little one, a good excuse for making toys… me? I just make them for myself! LOL
Whoa, that is adorable! I definitely think I want a chicken. 🙂
Love the chickie, and the jokes, and esp. the tailfeathers shot. Adorable.
That chicken just creaks me up! Very cute!
LOVE the chicken – especially the tail feathers; great detail! Sorry about the v neck boo boo – thank goodness (despite some ripping back) it will be an easy fix. It’s still cold here so the sweater mojo is still on.
That chicken is so cute! That’s too bad about the pullover. I was knitting a summer top at the end of last summer and lost my enthusiasm when it started cooling down. The good news is that I guess I can finish it up now. 🙂
THAT is one cool chicken! I think he’s all sorts of hip in green, too. Hurry up with the pattern, Emily!
Really? You think we’ll get another cold snap? I just ordered three sweaters’ worth of summery yarn from Webs because yeah, I have nothing but wool, which means I have nothing to knit!
I like chicken – knitting toys is fun!
Aw! Now, there’s something to crow about! (Ba-dum-dum) 🙂
I LOVE the chicken, and the yarn color you chose is so perfect! I think you’ve really found your ‘knitch’ with these adorable toys you’re designing. 🙂
This chicken is adorable. All the animals you have knitted look so soft and perfectly made. You knit really well and fast.
Can’t wait to see what you make next.
So cute!! I just noticed the banner at the top of your blog. I love it!
I love the chicken! Especially it’s hind end. 🙂 Oh, and the chicken jokes? Perfect! lol
What are you pointing to on your sweater that I don’t see?
I LOVE your chicken! Too cute!
I have the same question as Karen…where is your goof?
And, enough with the chicken yokes, Emily.
Oh. My. Goodness. I LOVE your chicken! That is awesome!
