betty

Here’s what Betty has been up to lately. She’s been helping. Except for a brief spell where he chewed up his foot, and his new habit of barking at thunder (there has been a LOT of rain lately) Angus has been his usual stalwart, wonderful self.

slack

Let’s talk about just how slack I’ve been about updating. It’s because things are (and will be until the end of July) Just Crazy Busy. We’re getting ready for camp, and there is No Time. On top of all that, we’ve been out of town three times in the past three weeks. Wah! I barely get to knit at all! As a result, my little made-up tank is progressing very slowly – especially for a tank in a largish gauge. I am a little bit embarrassed about that. The parts that are finished are pretty cute and I can’t wait to wear it.

Until I have more knitting progress to report, I will entertain you with pictures of flowers.

I will give a prize to the first person who can tell me what this orange stuff is. I can’t figure it out.

My Tank

My tank is moving right along. I took it with me to Virginia for a camp planning meeting this past weekend. After an all day Saturday meeting and two layovers I have this much:

Back of the tank on the airport floor

The background is the carpet in Concourse A of the Atlanta airport.

“Ew, why is your sweater on the floor,” you say? Well, it’s got popcorn butter on it already…

There are also some pictures of me knitting in the airport, but M wanted to get the planes in the shot so they are all very back lit.

Note: Denise circulars rock. First time ever flying with knitting that they didn’t hand search my bag.

Back from Hiatus

I am doing something I have never done before. Well two things. I am putting away a project that I am working on in favor of a new project (gasp!). And second, I am making up the new project myself.

my sketches and the Burpee catalog

The Sitcom Chic is going away for now, it’s just Too Hot to be thinking about a sweater with sleeves. I’ll pick it up again in September to wear in the fall. In the meantime, I am going to make a little white tank top or two (I have 6 balls of white cotton-ease) to wear with all the new little skirts I am making. There aren’t any pictures because it won’t STOP RAINING! My yard is a puddle. All my seeds have washed away. This means that I will have a Surprise Garden somewhere other than in the flower bed. Sigh.

I am going to disable my comments (if I can figure out how) because I have had WAY too much spam lately and I am tired of deleting it. Tacky tacky tacky.

Thunder! Lightening! Gotta go!
