And they’re off!

Ladies and Gentlemen, mail your envelopes!

wee tiny sock and card

It’s on the way – I even remembered to put a stamp on it!

If you haven’t taken a look at the Wee Tiny Fickr Group, it is totally worth a peek! There are 26 socks in there so far and I’ve added a lot of yarn to my List.

I’ve gotten a pretty good start on the other sock swap I’m involved in (these take a little longer since they are Regular Size).

It’s raining. Front porch pictures are the best you get today.

You can see how the mixup between Lucy and Bunny FooFoo happened. I have restarted these sock so many times with so many leg patterns. After I picked the basket weave, I started over several times trying to figure out the ribbing. I am still not happy with it. I wish I had gone with the 3×1 my gut told me too. Michael has forbidden (HAH) me to start over again, and truthfully, if I do I will never ever finish. My current plan is to pull out the cuff when I finish the sock and knit it back on upside down. I can bind off in pattern. Which is pretty cool. The bad part is that I will have to make the second sock the same way so that they match. 1.5″ of cuff to redo is better than 4″ of leg don’t you think?

Except…now that I think about it…there are two cuffs that I have to redo…so that’s really 6″ of cuff total (if you figure that it is 1.5″ the first time and 1.5″ on the redo multiplied by 2 cuffs)…

…so it would actually be faster to pull it out and start over…

Maybe I will make another little sock and think it over.

**Update: I just pulled the sock out. I knew I was going to end up doing that and I decided that the sooner the better. I am now casting on 64 stitches.**

My mini sock will be on it’s way within the hour! And I’ve got another on the needles … too fun to knit so I’ll make one in every left over sock yarn I have, LOL. In fact … every time I finish a sock, I’m going to make a mini sock to go with ’em.

You won’t have to redo 6″ of cuff. On the second sock, just knit a 2-3 rows before starting the body, don’t knit a full 1.5″ cuff. That way you won’t have as much to rip. Although, when I read that you were going to rip and knit in reverse, I kinda cringed.

I have a Flickr question. Do I have to become a Flicker member in order to post my sock picture? I went to the site, saw it was public, but could not figure out what I needed to do to post my tiny sock.

For the second sock, I’d just start with a provisional cast-on (I use the crochet method, but there are others out there) and start right in with the pattern. Once you’re finished? Take out the provisional cast-on, pop it on the needles and knock out the ribbing.

(Then again, I’d rip out and restart, but I’m freaky like that!)

My mini-sock was dropped off at the post office on my way to the movies last night, so it’s on its way!

And I meant to add that the Lucy is a lovely color choice. (But Little Bunny Foo Foo is too – one of these days, I need to knit me some Little Bunny Foo Foo socks. I love the Little Bunny Foo Foo saga.)

    MAILED!!!!

I hand-delivered it to the post-office and made the guy at the counter double-check to be sure that I had enough postage (I know that a normal stamp would probably have done it, but I’m obsessive every now and then, so I stuck $0.80 on there!)

It is now sailing its way across the U.S. to……………well, to its intended recipient! I’m not giving anything away until my Swap Pal receives their letter!

applause from here to there for you ripping it out – you’ll be so much happier this way (despite the frustration of having to re-knit)
    the wee-sock is adorable!

The wee sock is precious. Little Bunny Foo Foo is a STR colorway that I have my eye one…as Amanda said defintiely lurvley!
