Hah! The 2007 Traditional Limited Edition Emily Ivey Handmade Christmas Ornaments are finished!
There are 20 total.
These are the Knitted Ornaments from Handknit Holidays (edited by Melanie Falick but the pattern is by Leigh Radford). They were so much more fun and fast to make than I expected – I was shocked that in just a few days of casual knitting I was finished (I got the yarn last Saturday – Lion Wool). I love them.
I have awarded myself one point for finishing ornaments in September and another point for using non-traditional Christmas colors. Christmas has earned a point for the animated lawn Santas that appeared in Wal-Mart before Labor Day. The current score: Emily – 2 Christmas – 1
Tomorrow should be kinda windy and rainy for us because of TD10 (we are in Alabama’s right pants leg). This is not a big deal, we need the rain and for tropical storms all I do is turn over the rocking chairs on the front porch.
Wow. I can’t even begin to express my respect and admiration. The only Christmas knitting I’ve done this year is to decide not to do any Christmas knitting. Of course, that’s what I decided last year, too, and come December 15 I was in big trouble, what with the inevitable mind-changing.
Those ornaments are adorable! You do such great, fun stuff. BTW as penance for my snippy comment the other day, Angus wore his Roll Tide shirt to school today, though it was lost on those in the Pacific Northwest. Apparently he talked about Chucky the Alligator all day at school! Much love to y’all.
Those are really great little ornaments.
Love them!
They are awesome! I love that they are not in traditional Christmas colors too.
Love the ornaments! I have some quilted hearts and dolls that my sister made a long time ago for the tree. Maybe I should make some knitted ornaments, too! 🙂 I really like what you did!
Oh those are so cute. Thanks for reminding me that I had planned to make a tree skirt. I just now finished the entrelac scarf began in June.
sweet ornaments!
Very Cute! I love them, too! You’ll win this Christmas thing this year, I can feel it. ;o)
Hey, you need much more than one point for finishing Christmas items in September!!!! TOOO cute!!!!
Oh my! I would have needed to start these 2 years ago to have them by Christmas. Love them!!!!!!!
Thank you for showing us one more great project out of the Handknit Holidays book. I can’t wait to see the tree skirt. Anything Melanie Falick puts her mark on is always good, and you have proven that….the ornaments are much better that a tiny sweater but with the same cozy feel. Luv’em!
Ooh, I hate it every year when Costco puts out the Christmas things in August. I know there are people who are really into Christmas, but does anyone actually start decorating that early?
These a precious! Hmmm… good idea for a knit night project to decorate a little tree 🙂
Awww, they’re so cute! Fast knits, hmm? Those could make some pretty nifty gifts….
Those are my favorite ornaments – I make them out of leftovers and I love them!
Those look great Em! I soooo need to be thinking of making some for myself!
Cute ornaments! I might have to try these later. Right now I’m trying to ignore Christmas until it’s forced on me. 🙂
They’re adorable, Emily! I have had my eye on that book on and off for a year or so. I think I shall go to Amazon right now and purchase an early b-day present for myself. As always, thanks for the inspiration!
