Sign-ups for the Wee Tiny Sock Swap 2008 are officially open!
**Sign-Ups for Wee Tiny Sock Swap 2008 are closed! Stay tuned to Yarn Miracle for more information about WTS09.**
Here is what you are getting into:
- You’ve got until next Thursday (March 27) to sign up!
- Next Friday (March 28), you will receive your Wee Tiny Pal’s name, email, blog address (if there is one) and mailing address in your email.
- You will knit a single Wee Tiny Sock (the official pattern is here or make one of your own) over the weekend.
- On Monday (March 31), you will place the Wee Tiny Sock that you made into an envelope* with a note to your Wee Tiny Pal that includes your name, email, blog address (if there is one) and name of the yarn you used to create the Wee Tiny Sock.
- Address the envelope to your Wee Tiny Pal.
- Apply a regular first class stamp to the envelope (or go to the post office and procure the appropriate postage if you are mailing out of the country) and drop it in the mail box. It’s still Monday, March 31.
- Wait a few days.
- Rejoice when your Wee Tiny Sock Arrives! Contact the Wee Tiny Pal that made it for you to let her/him know it arrived safe and sound! Be sure to say “thank you.”
- Reply when you receive a thank you email from your Wee Tiny Sock Pal!
- You now have two new friends!
Heard enough? Thrilled to pieces to find a swap as low-key as this one? If you’ve got additional questions, just ask in the comments (or email me if you don’t think other people will be interested in the answer)!

The Official Flickr group is Wee Tiny Sock Swap 2008. The Ravelry group is also called Wee Tiny Sock Swap 2008. I encourage use of the Flickr group because not everyone has a Ravelry account yet.
*Mailing Tips: Last year, people found it handy to use a greeting card for added envelope stability. Wrapping the Wee Tiny Sock in tissue works well too. If you are very nervous about your sock (or it has a long way to travel), you might want to try a padded mailer.
I’m signed up and ready to go!
aw, the link isn’t working for me! ;(
I can’t get it either…
The pattern link isn’t working for me. I tried going to Ravelry and going from there. No luck. This sounds like fun!
I got the pattern link to work. I used the url listed on Ravelry:
http://yarnmiracle.gweezlebur.com/patterns/WeeTinySock.html and removed the gweezlebur to make it say:
http://yarnmiracle.com/patterns/WeeTinySock.html
yup just tried that link to sign up and its seems broken:(
I’m so excited!! I love knitting these little socks and can’t wait to get one, too!
I have no idea why the sign-up page is being weird for some people. The site isn’t down or out of bandwidth or anything. Give it one more try.
The sign-up link just worked for me. Yea! 🙂
hiya Emily the sign up page is fine – but on your link to the pattern ive noticed that youve got “too many htpp//”
http://http//yarnmiracle.com/patterns/WeeTinySock.pdf
people just need to delete out the extra one and it will work 😉

Yay! We still have no good explanation for why the page fails for some people – bunches of people have been using it successfully. If you’ve tried several times and are still unsuccessful, contact me and I will shook you up.
PS I fixed the pattern link, too. I stared at that thing and was all “looks fine to me” – thanks, Val! I must need more sleep.
OMG! Wee Tiny Socks, hurray!
i didnt click the yes, i will mail outside the US box, but i will.
the link won’t work for me either, I posted a message on Raverly, so you can email there or my other address that you will get from this post.
Sometimes my Firefox prevents me from going to some of the sites, it’s probably something silly like that.
heatherly, I updated your info, since I haven’t shown Emily how that works yet.
And by “haven’t shown her” I mean, “haven’t written that part yet”
The link didn’t work for me either. 🙁
I sent you an email.
The sign-up lnk is’nt working for me, is there another way to sign up?
The link didn’t work for me from work, but it worked fine from home. The error I got at work was a DNS error, so if you just added the sub-domain, some DNS servers may not have picked it up yet.
Oh, hooray! I missed you last year and am SO glad to see you’re doing it again. *twirls with excitement*

Thanks for a great little swap! I’m signed up and raring to go.
Now this is my kind of swap…surely I can finish on time! Thanks for doing this. It will give me a sense of accomplishment, even if it is just a wee, tiny thing!
