Proportional Response

OK.

My survey results show a (comparatively) small but Extremely Enthusiastic response to Revenge of Dish Rag Tag. Which leaves me on the horns of a dilemma. Last year, due to Economic Conditions, I had to instate a sign-up fee of $1 to cover postage and I had a pattern bake sale to raise prize money. That worked great, in part because there were lots of people playing. If I run a smaller race (which is probably a really good thing as far as eliminating dead beat team members and hijacked boxes), I will have to offer smaller prize packages.

So I’ve got one more question. And please be honest.

I’ll make a determination based on this poll’s outcome and number of votes cast.

PS I’ve got a really fun idea for a fundraiser. At least I think it’s fun. And silly. And I’ll probably do it even if there is no Dish Rag Tag this year (but as a contest not a fundraiser) because it is so silly. I could use a little silly to help me forget about all that oil.

Law me, I thought it was all about DRT glory!
In my lil o’ mind the rush from knitting a dishrag as fast as possible to get the box back in the mail the same day is a rush few other group knitting experiences could ever top.
The value of the prizes don’t make me no never mind. 🙂

I’m with Dorothy (and I’ve won prizes, which I treasure!). DRT is like “How the grinch Stole Christmas” — it comes without prizes or gifts, and it’s all about the fun.

I think the whole experience and the racing and reading other’s posts about it makes the fun. No need for prizes. Getting and giving a new dishcloth is really fun. I don’t think you should have to think about prizes or go to all that trouble. I had a blast doing Dish Rag Tag.

I’m not in it for prizes or gifts. It’s all about winning. Oh, wait. I’m supposed to say it’s all about fun aren’t I? Yeah, yeah. All about the fun 😉

I would have to agree w/everyone about a prize. If you like doing a prize then up the fee to another dollar or so to see if that will help on getting enough to help cover some of the cost or do a less expensive prizes.

I really enjoyed doing the race and would be so so sad to see it go.

It’s a personal, erm, team/personal challenge! The prizes are cool, but never having won any, that’s a minor consideration.

    It’s about DISHRAG GLORY!

WHATTT????? NO DISH RAG TAG??????? Please, please, please do another one….I love this! The anticipation, waiting for the box to come…..that’s the most fun! And then rushing to get in in the mail…..and telling everyone about this crazy race you are a part of…..fun I tell you!

The prize is the chance to participate, and the rush and fun of the race. Everything else is gravy and neither expected or required. Come on Revenge of the DRT!

Hoping you still host it! Last year was my first, and despite..well it’s interesting end. I would love to enter again 🙂

I had a lot of fun last year, even with our package going to Texas twice, lol.

But to me, just getting the dishcloth, and the few things people send, and the glory of winning is prize enough for me, 🙂

I totally missed the poll since it’s been too hot to be on the computer but I would have said that a small race is better than no race. I’m so glad to hear that you’ll be doing the race! Last year was my first year and it was so much fun. Prize or no I’m totally in and I’d also be more than happy to donate some money to help with postage costs. Oh, and if you’d really like to offer a prize please let me know. I’d be more than happy to help! 🙂

I have participated in DRT 2 years now. Both years we had a box go awol and we came in dead last, but I still had a blast. I am with Maryann, the new dishcloth and the nifty gifties in the box are prizes enough for me. : ) I Love those birdes!!!!

    Emily –

I truly enjoyed the past two years of the race. My girls will be disappointed if you are not able to have one this year. What can I do to help?
