So many stamps!
While I’m wrapping up the prizes, please enjoy some Dish Rag Tag Trivia brought to you by Dish Rag Tag’s Official Record Keeper, Amanda!
Did you know – there are only 2 names that have been repeated in the 4 years and 73 teams in DRT?
Sweet 16 – 2007 & 2008
Dish Rag Divas – it’s a sweep! 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
Amanda has also calculated the average knitting/shipping times per knitter over the entire race (day counts include post office holidays and weekends, and knitter counts include me)!
2010’s winners:
Doggone Dishrag Addicts 9/2/2010 (Fri) to 10/15/2010 (Fri) 44 days/ 13 knitters = 3.38 days per knitter
2009’s winners:
Needling Ninjas 8/28/2009 (Fri) to 9/30/2009 (Wed)
34 total days/11 knitters = 3.09 days per knitter

Speedy speedy knitting!
There are still four boxes out and about (although I expect one in the mailbox today)! What is your personal days per dishrag? Share with us in the comments.
Oh, Amanda, you are a woman after my own heart!!! I love trivial facts like that. I am proud to say that our box was only in my possession about 4 hours. It was put in my mailbox just before 2pm and I had it back in the post office drop box before 6pm…
Delivered mid afternoon, home from work by 5:45, knitting immediately (the dogs were sad that I would not pay more attention to them)- delivered to the airport postoffice that is open until midnight by my daughter. Did not seem to make it move any faster tho! DRTy Knitters has still not finished… Thanks for the stats.
My mail is usually delivered by 11:30AM. That day, of course, we had a substitute and it was not delivered until after 3pm when both my husband and I had left for work. Got the box when I got home at 11pm, knit and delivered next morning to an early opening PO, 7:15AM, but, that did not help the cause, as they only ship once a day, 4pm! Which, unfortunately, means the box was in my “possession” about 23-24 hours!! I, like Gayle, had expected to have a 4 hour turnaround. Isn’t all that the “fun” of this frustrating, inspiring, maddening, hilarious, out of our control event?!!? Thanks Emily for giving all of us valid reasons for therapy 🙂
Thanks Amanda for compiling the statistics! I love statistics! You lead us, Needling Ninjas, for the fastest team in DRT history last year and I was thrilled to be on the same team with you again this year. 🙂
Last year, my turn around was six hours I believe…including an across the state (2 hr.) roadtrip. This year, I had it back to the PO in three hours, including a two mile walk to the PO. Hmmm…both years I was the second to last leg and was daunted by the closeness of the race and the yearning for DRT glory, so I went to extremes! hahaha
I received mine late Saturday morning. Finished the dish rag, that afternoon, drove 30 miles round trip to the Detroit Main Post Office so it could go out that day, and it was delivered to our next team player on Monday!! Seeing how close the standings are this was definitely the right move to make.
I recieved my prize box and all I can say is wow I posted a blog about it here http://knits4udesigns.blogspot.com/2010/10/dish-rag-tag-prize-has-come.html
I received the box in the Saturday mail, which was delivered sometime around noon. However, my son failed to notify me, which meant I didn’t get my hands on it until after the post was closed for the weekend…I sent to the PO Monday morning, but our office only ships once per day…so 2+ days in my possession.
