Picking

The Armadillo Veggie Protection System has had satisfactory results.

picked stuff

Corn, peppers, tomatoes and cucumbers.

Ellie’s little corn is the cutest stuff!

And it was really delicious!

But she still won’t eat it. Veggies are for playtime, not dinner time.

She only enjoys the planting, watering, picking and playing.

I picked a bunch of tomatoes this evening. If you were my neighbor, I’d bring you some.

Phooey. I planted late and have only harvested a few lonely pear tomatoes and pickling cukes. Your crop looks good!

Oh my gosh, it is weeks until our tomatoes will be pickable…..
my kids hated veggies and then Al became a vegetarian. All is not lost. Zach at 16 learned to eat salad…
until then he survived mainly on peanut butter and vitamin fortified cereal….
I just couldnt fight it all…..so the rule was if you didnt like dinner…you could always have cereal….

    Vegetables are play, not food…

That sounds so much like my oldest. He LOVES planting and nurturing flowers and vegetables in the garden, helped me plant all the seeds this year, etc. But will he eat them? Noooo!

I’ve been tricking him by making veg into edible toys – the peas always want to party in his stomach, and the sweetcorn cannot wait to go pop in his tummy and turn into popcorn. It’s hard work! 😉
