pumpkin ’05

We went up to Atlanta for the weekend. Since my Mom was coming down here on Tuesday, I elected to stay and come on home with her. This meant that I was in an actual neighborhood with actual trickrtreaters on Halloween. Way cool. I carved a pumpkin so that everyone would know that my folks’ house was a Candy House.

She has such nice earings. And a healthy glow.

The rest of my time was spent working on M’s Cardigan and reading. I am eight rows away from a completed back!

There is a split stitch caused by reading and knitting at the same time. I can disguise it when I’m weaving in ends. It was totally worth it, the new Pratchett is very funny.

While in Atlanta, I bought the new Knit It! (It only comes out once a year – there isn’t too much in it that I am interested in but I have all the others.), the latest Vogue Knitting (Which I purchased for a single pattern – can you guess which one? Naturally, it’s not in the preview.) and Yarn Harlot (the book). I read it to Mom on the way home. I’ll show you the Vogue pattern that was worth $6.99 when I get my magazine back from Great Gran.

Now I am off to make coffee so that M will get up, read through four days worth of newspapers (seriously, we pay for those!), knit eight more rows, put together the sweater pieces and pick up stitches for the first sleeve. That’s right, pick them up! No shoulder seams! I love it.
