Grrr. So frustrating. Same thing here- had a perfect pairing of pattern and yarn. Then I swatched. Sigh. Could not get gauge with a fabric that was at all reasonable. Soldier on!
Today I did a gauge swatch for a sweater and I got the stitch per inch right on! The row gauge is 1/2 stitch off. I figure it won’t matter because I’ll be measuring the length anyway. Right?
