Five Alarms for Second

The second box to finish the race and earn Dish Rag Tag Glory belongs to

FiveAlarmFire

Five Alarm Fire (take my word for it)

Another original box finishes the race! And what a great finish too. Team Captain Donna must be thrilled! The final Five Alarm Dish Rag was knit by my across-the-bay neighbor, LaTina!

Peach, blue and point protectors! Watermelon gum made everything smell delicious.

There is also a treat for Ellie:

fishy stickers

Shiny fishy stickers!

She will be so excited when she gets up from her nap. That is assuming that her nap happens, there is a lot of noise in there from someone who is supposed to be asleep. *mah grinds her teeth*

Congratulations, Five Alarm Fire! An excellent showing in an excellent race! Help yourselves to chocolate.

Prizes will be in the mail next week: there are two more boxes headed home!

Whoopie! I was looking for the results for 2nd place, and here it is! A thrilling finish! It’s my first time, too, and I’m just “getting it” when it comes to communication. I have been on this site before and saw all the beautiful items Emily has to offer, but I didn’t think to look here for the winners! Thanks, all members of all teams, everyone did their best!

All credit is due to the most amazing team of knitters in the history of the race. The post office managed to misdeliver our box TWICE on consecutive legs of the race, but did the Five Alarm Fire knitters give up? No, they did not. And here we are savoring the glory!

WHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEE OHHHHHHHHHHH WHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! That’s the Five Alarm Fire (mail) truck comin’ through!

    FIIIVVVVVE ALARRRRM FIRRRRRE
From knitting we did not tire.

Once, or twice, it sure seemed dire
Perhaps Fed Ex would’ve been a better hire!

We held fast when stuck in all that mire
Our box was almost first to break that glory wire.

Three cheers, three cheers for….Fivvvve Alarrrrm Firrrre!!

Hooray!!! It was a pleasure to be on the Five Alarm Fire team. We stuck together and persevered through some smoky times together. Three big cheers for Donna…an awesome team captain and cheerleader! Emily, thanks for the fun and the memories. I can’t wait for the next race!

Congratulations to the Five Alarm Fire Team. You guys sure gave us a scare at the end when our team’s progress was not moving as fast as we wanted and the mailman was dragging his feet. This was my first Dish Rag Tag and it sure was fun.
