For your amusement: the outtakes from the new banner.
That’s Flat Bunny in the basket.
I also located the past banner images and put them at the bottom of my (oh so neglected) gallery page.
New pattern next week – new Mindful Fiber too!

Happy first day of the new school year!
For some reason every picture is out of focus.
She’s been going three mornings a week all summer, but you’ve got to mark the new school year somewhere right?
My friend, Melissa, has caught a Waldorf doll-making bug. This isn’t a huge surprise for me since she is all-around Ridiculously Talented. I mean it. I have no idea how she finds the time to create the all the things she creates (and test my poorly-numbered patterns at the same time)! The fun part is, that since Melissa is ‘practicing’ her doll-making skills, Ellie had the opportunity to have a custom doll made. She chose everything; size, skin, eyes, clothes…
…hair, ears…
Ellie knows what she likes: cats and pink.
Ellie’s doll is named Kitty Girl Ivey. I am sure you are not at all surprised.
Ellie LOVES HER! Aren’t her toes cute?
Thank you, Melissa!
When I cleaned out my office, I rearranged a bit and liberated a little bookshelf from the cats’ sun parlor. Which thrilled me because it gave me what I needed for a project that’s been on my mind since Ellie turned two.
A Mud Pie Kitchen! Purple is what happens when Ellie gets to pick.
My Dad cut out the top piece and the burners, Ellie and I painted, Ellie and her Dad made the first mud.
See the cookies in the oven?
It was a complex process.
The perfect consistency is somewhat elusive.
The back porch and the shower floor are somewhat gritty.
But absolutely worth it. I hope your Sunday was as gorgeous.
P.S. Tomorrow (Monday) is the last day to enter the drawing for April’s Mindful Fiber from Quo Vadis Handspun!
The egg hunt was exhausting.
There’s still one egg out in Great Gran’s yard somewhere. I hope we find it before the lawn mower does.
Ellie is four.
Grainy i-phone picture. Sorry.
You heard me. Four.
I’ll be an AARP member any day now.
Meet Dwain and Dougie. They went off to the shelter this morning and I expect that they will have forever homes in a day and a half.
Here’s Dwain.
And here’s Dougie.
Cuteness has it’s perks. Just ask Ellie.
I’m not sure what I was thinking when I bought those shorts.
Ellie had this to say about preschool:
“Preschool was fun! I played on the playground and I like my teacher Miss Char-ty (Charity) so so SO much. It was fun!”
After nap we baked a celebration cake.
It’s a layder cake. It has three layders.
The hosting company for Yarn Miracle has ‘elevated’ Michael’s ticket. I hope that means you will experience fewer problems with the site’s availability really really soon.
Especially since server trouble makes me want to pitch a big, noisy fit.
Dish Rag Tag teams are assigned, Team Captains named and Ellie went off to preschool today.
Her top has cupcakes and tea cups on it.
This has been the longest morning ever.
Wish you were here.
The shovel is her paddle.
